The work a later expanded and corrected edition of Moore's work examining the Trestle-board as the symbol of natural and moral law in Masonic ritual and a more general examination of Masonic practice and symbolism, for use in instruction of the those in the order. The book is divided into two parts, each with separate pagination, and contains 8 engraved plates (including the frontispiece), illustrating the insignias, symbols, and history of Freemasonry. A number of pages contain traditional Masonic songs, and are accompanied by musical notation. Table of contents at the front. Binding with some rubbing, bumping and chipping to extremities and along edges including to the head & tail of the spine. Boards with some light stains, scratches and smudges. Starting along the gutters of the interior front covers. The top third of the front free endpaper has been torn off and is missing. Some sporadic light smudges and/or foxing throughout.
