Full red morocco with gilt ruling and tooling on the covers, gilt stamped-motifs, raised band and gilt lettering on the spine. All edges in gilt. Red marbled endpapers, and gilt tooling along the edges of interior covers. This is a beautifully bound copy of (The Author's Annotated Edition of) Alfred Lord Tennyson's famed poem "In Memoriam". The work serves a poem in memorial tribute to the deceased poet Arthur Henry Hallam, a close friend of Tennyson, and is written in iambic tetrameter. Includes two pages of errata at the front of the book and an index at the rear. The last section of the book includes annotations and notes on the poem by Tennyson himself (edited and compiled by his son Hallam Tennyson). Binding with some light rubbing along the edges and to corners. Spine lightly sunned and with some light rubbing the head and tail. Interior with some sporadic light foxing throughout.
