Waldemar George's "Chirico: Avec des Fragments Littéraires de l'Artiste" is an important and early monograph on Giorgio de Chirico (1888-1978), a celebrated Italian artist who founded the 'Scuola Metafisica' art movement, which profoundly influenced the surrealists.

The author's text "Chirico et les Appels du Sud", as well as Chirico's "Le Fils de l'Ingénieur" and "Le Survivant de Navarin" are intertwined with five reproductions of portraits sketched by the artist.

Includes 30 striking full-page plates of Chirico's paintings reproduced in duo-tone.

One of 500 numbered copies, of which this is No. 202, sixty addition copies were printed on velin.
