Illustrated with b/w artwork and photographs. Contains chapter on the historical lead-up to the massacres, description of the massacres of April 19th and 20th, 1903, the time after the massacres, the public opinion, and the relation of the Kischinew events to the Russian Jewish Question. Includes a statistic of the pogroms in Russia from 1881 to July 1884, and explanation of the massacres at rear. Three stanzas of Lord Byron's "Oh! Weep for those that wept..." in handwriting quoted on front endpaper. Text in German. Leather with light scuffing. Block age toned. Binding and interior in overall very good condition. vg.
