Oranienburg: NP, ND (between 1942 and 1945). Original document. Loose_leaf. Size: 4 3/4 x 5 3/4". Original printed and typed Werkausweis, a Forced Labor ID pass issued to a female inmate at the Sachsenhausen-Oranienburg Concentration Camp during WWII.
The document was issued for Helene Baum (born on 10/12/1921), and entitled her to work as a laboratory assistant within the concentration camp of Sachsenhausen-Oranienburg.
Located in Oranienburg, Germany, the Nazi camp was used primarily for political prisoners from 1936 to the end of the Third Reich in May 1945.
A 1 3/8 x 1 3/8" b/w photographic portrait of Helene Baum is mounted at the upper left side of the document. The Forced Labor ID pass is stamped twice: On the photograph (the stamp has a large swastika at its center, and reads: Konzentrationslager - Oranienburg), and at lower right margin next to an unidentified signature (the stamp has a Nazi Eagle at its center, and reads: SS Wirtschafts - Verwaltungshauptamt (the SS Main Economic and Administrative Office).
The document is undated, but must have been delivered after May 1942 as the SS Wirtschafts - Verwaltungshauptamt (the SS Main Economic and Administrative Office) did not exist before that date.
Document rubbed and slightly water-stained along edges (not affecting photograph or lettering). Three small holes at center (slightly affecting one word). Text in German. Document in overall good+ condition. g+. Item #41785
