This is #27 of a limited number of 35 copies of this large paper edition, printed on special paper. The publication is a beautifully printed comprehensive bibliography of the works of Alfred Lord Tennyson, with each work accompanied by a detailed description. Includes a 24 page sewn binding softcover pamphlet for "A Chronological List of the Works of Alfred Lord Tennyson with some few items of Tennysoniana and a series of portraits of the Poet Laureate" exhibited at the Grolier Club, New York, November 5-20th, 1897. The exhibition guide has been tipped in at interior rear cover. Interestingly enough, the softcover guide mentions some works missing from Herne's publication. Also included is a chromolithographic postcard featuring a portrait illustration of Tennyson, laid in at the front of the book. Occasional scholarly annotations in pencil in the margins (easily erasable). Binding with some foxing and staining to covers. Spine with some staining as well as some chipping to head and tail.
