Published by the author and printed on fine coated paper, this complete run of 11 fascicules contains the complete catalogue raisonné of Honoré Daumier's lithographic work. The fascicules are bound two per volume, except for the last one (volume 5) which has three, as it includes fascicule 29 bis (Tables).
Illustrated with over four thousand b/w photographic reproductions, this work was published in Loys Delteil's series "Le Peintre-Graveur Illustré" (volume 20 up to 29 bis).
Ex-library copies with reference number at tail of spines, and bookplate on inside of each of the five volumes. Minor shelf-wear, soiling and rubbing along edges of binding. Text and captions in French. Binding in overall good+, interior in very good condition. g+ to vg. Item #41147
About the artist: Honoré Daumier (1808-1879) was a celebrated French printmaker, caricaturist, painter, and sculptor, whose many works offer commentary on social and political life in France in the 19th century.
