Illustrated with 61 striking photogravures (including front cover), this complete 1940 calendar was published in the early months of the Second World War.

Its impressive photographs are entirely devoted to the "glory" of the German army and depict the following:

Various German military reviews (including the large military parade held in Berlin on Adolf Hitler's 50th birthday, and the Wehrmacht parading in occupied Prague and Memel); Ju 87, Me 109, Hs 123 flying over the Third Reich; Portraits of Reichsfuehrer Adolf Hitler, Reichsmarschall Herman Goering, Fieldmarschall Wilhelm Keitel, Generalfeldmarschall Walther von Brauchitsch, and the commander in chief of the German navy Erich Raeder; Includes photographs of some units of the German war fleet such as the "Scharnhost," the "Bismarck," the "Schleswig-Holstein," "Admiral Hipper," and the "Graf Zeppelin"; Various units of the German army are also featured, including the "Hochgebirgsjäger (Mountain troops) and the "Fallschirmjäger" (German paratroopers).

Each of the 61 photogravures measures 7 1/4 x 6 5/8" and is captioned at verso.
