It is divided into four parts: namely, an historical account of the rise and progress of the culture and manufacture of silk; an account of the culture of the mulberry tree, and the growth of the silk-worm; a treatise on the manufacture of the thread, and an account of the chemical, medical, and electrical properties of silk.
