Illustrated with hundreds of striking color photographic reproductions (including many fold-out plates), this splendid catalogue was published in conjuction with an exhibition of the same name. Jointly organized by the Oriental Ceramic Society of Hong Kong and the Urban Council, the exhibition was held between June and September 1995, at the Hong Kong Museum of Art. The 300 objects exposed and featured in this catalogue ranged from the Song to the Qing dynasties and included more than 20 pieces of kesi and embroidery from the Liaoning Museum in Shenyang, China; Includes rare examples of needlelooping, Ming rank badges and imperial robes from a noted private collection and a large embroidered Yongle mark thanka.
