NP: NP, 1815-1856. First edition. Paperback. Folio. Unpaginated. Contemporary light blue wrappers. This striking collection of forty-one 19th-century Italian catholic broadsides from 1815 to 1856 covers topics such as Papal declarations, women taking the veil, commemoration of the second anniversary of Pope Pius VII's triumphal return from exile, etc.. The main purpose of these broadsheets, or broadsides, was to post religious proclamations, acts, and official notices. 4 of the 41 broadsides are in Latin, the others in Italian. Most of the broadsides (34 of 41) consist of a poem accompanying a religious proclamation.

22 of the 41 broadsides are folded, due to a large format. The other pieces measure approx. 14 1/2 x 9 1/2".

Some age wear on wrappers with head of spine chipped. Sporadic creasing and closed tears along edges of covers. Worming along inner margin (not affecting text). Moderate and sporadic creasing and closed tears along paper margin. Minor and sporadic foxing throughout. Text in Italian (37) and Latin (4).
