Facsimile reprint of Sudek's most noted book about Prague with 284 striking b/w panoramic photogravures. It earned him the nickname "Poet of Prague." His passion to capture the city in photographs was compared to Eugène Atget and his exploits in and around Paris. By many considered his masterpiece, the photographs were taken with a 1894 Kodak Panorama with spring-drive lens producing a negative of approximately 4 by 12 inches. Text in Czech and German. DJ lightly rubbed and sunned along edges. Binding with minor stain. Book block lightly age-toned along edges not affecting images.
