A rare encyclopedia of rabbinic thought quoting the full passages relevant to the topic. For example on the topic of "truth" there is a section on oaths which quotes from Temurah 3b as to why we make people swear on a Torah scroll. Due to the immense nature of the task, this project never went past the letter "aleph." Michael Guttmann was an early 20th century Hungarian Talmud scholar, who taught at the Breslau Jewish theological seminary and later headed the Budapest seminary. He died during the Holocaust. Edges rubbed. Age toning and foxing throughout all interiors. Vol. 1: Black marks on spine, slight tears along interior hinges, Vol. 2: Black marks on spine. Vol. 3: Some uncut edges.
