Micha Berdyczewski was a maskilic Hebrew journalist from a Hasidic family. As a young man he studied in the Volozhin Yeshiva before pursuing a university degree in Switzerland and Germany. He was greatly influenced by Hegel and Nietzsche. Bookplate from previous owner on front endpaper of vol. 1. Slight sunning on binding and interiors. Corners slightly rubbed.
