A collection of 244 b/w photographs depicting the ruins of the Polish capital of Warsaw at the end of World War II in 1945 when the city was liberated from the hands of the Nazis by the Soviet Red Army. The book contains an array of bombed out landmark buildings and statues. This work was produced during the Cold War when the Soviet Union still occupied Poland and it was not possible to discuss anything but atrocities committed by Germany. Text in Polish with some Russian. Dj creased and chipped. Overall in good condition. g. Item #35700
