Light blue decorative endpapers. Memorial volume for the prominent Jewish community of the city of Lwow (Lemberg) in Ukraine destroyed in the Holocaust. This community had existed since the end of the fifteenth century. At the beginning of World War II there were some 200,000 Jews in the city. After the German invasion of the Soviet Union a ghetto was built there, but it was liquidated by June 1943. Includes numerous short biographies and b/w photographs of prominent individuals.
