Remarkable work in which are shown all the important examples of Lombard architecture in Italy. Besides views of buildings, many architectural details are reproduced. Each plates usually contains several figures, so that the actual number of b/w illustrations in the volume amounts to over a thousand, a large proportion of which are from the author's own photographs. Ex-library copy with library marking at tail of spine. Moderate rubbing and soiling along edges. Head and tail of spine slightly frayed. Book plate on inside of front board. Previous owner's stamp (C. A. Balch, Architect) on inside of front covers (Portfolio and chemise,) and title page.
