A more extended treatment is given to groups of memorials with a common theme, e.g. Poets corner (with memorials for Chaucer onwards). The last part of the book contains a detailed history of the Abbey from earliest times, with much detail about the people connected with its activities. This work is profusely illustrated with numerous engravings and photogravures by Herbert Railton. Age wear on binding with spines age-toned and damp-stained. Covers moderately foxed. Shelfwear. Minor age toning along paper margin. Bindings in overall fair to good-, interior in good+ condition. g. Item #31561
