NP: Ons Volk, 1945. First edition. Softcover. 26pp. Original printed wrappers. "Six Candles for India" (Dutch: "Zes kaarsen voor Indië") was a published diary by Leonhard Huizinga. The diary consists of six chapters, symbolically called "candles". The book was released by the underground magazine "Ons Volk" (Our People,) during the Second World War, and was commissioned and written for the Australian Overseas Information Committee. Moderate age wear on wrappers with minor rubbing, creasing and staining along edges. Upper corner bumped, thus affecting pages throughout. Damp light staining along gutter of pages throughout (not affecting text). Text in Dutch. Wraps and interior in overall good to good+ condition. g. Item #30945
