Top edge gilt. Deckled fore- and bottom edges. Title-page vignette. Klabund's poems in this limited edition are adapted from work by Chinese poet, Li Bai (aka Li Po, Li Ta Pe). Li Bai was a major poet of the Tang dynasty period. He has been regarded as one of the greatest poets in China's Tang period, which is often called China's "golden age" of poetry. In the 1910's, German writer Klabund became fascinated with far-eastern literature, which he began to translate and adapt from. Illustrated with 16 lithographic drawings by Rudolf Grossmann.
