Collection of 45 poems by Austrian poet, Nikolaus Lenau (Nikolaus Franz Niembsch Edler von Strehlenau), who was a typical representative in German language literature of the pessimistic Weltschmerz. Poems accompanied by delightful color and b/w reproductions of paintings and drawings by Hugo Steiner-Prag. Vignettes, head- and tailpieces in the Jugendstil (also by Steiner-Prag). Hans Fraungruber selected the poems. Text in German, gothic script. Some sunning, minor age wear and staining on binding. Tight copy with binding in good+, interior in very good to near fine condition. Part of "Gerlach's Judendbücherei (10)."
