The captivating images of the Holy Land were taken by famous traveler and French photographer Félix Bonfils (1831-1885). Titled plates accompanied with captions from the Old and New Testament. Sporadic foxing and sunning on mounts, photogravures clean and bright. Bottom right corner of "Dead Sea" plate chipped. Drawing in pencil on verso of "Mount Zion" plate. Some age wear and minor staining on exterior of portfolio. Staining and foxing on portfolio interior and folding flaps, bottom flap missing.
