Fascinating photo album of this Napoleonic landmark, which was the residence of First Consul Napoleon Bonaparte, until he was crowned Emperor of the French. During the Empire, Malmaison became "The Imperial Palace," and after the divorce of Napoleon and Josephine in 1809, the Empress chose it as her place of retirement. This album contains 20 b/w photographic reproductions. Notices and captions in English and French. Some discoloration on spine and along edges of front cover. 1.5" closed tear at bottom of front joint. Wrappers in overall good, interior in very good condition. g. Item #25428
