Vols 1-31 re-bound in maroon cloth, with gold lettering on spines. Vols 28 & 32- 48 of the original series, as well as the additional seven vols are softcover, in the original printed wrappers. Vols 1-6, 8 and 10-27 are ex-library, with stickers at bottom of spine. Fascinating set containing scholarly articles on American Jewish historical, cultural and religious topics as well as notable Jewish figures, including Jews in the Civil and Revolutionary Wars. Illustrated with b/w photographic reproductions of portraits and a reproduction of an early painting of San Francisco. Also, the set covers issues such as east-west conflict in American Judaism.
