Original green cloth with gold-stamped decoration on front board and title-label in red and black Japanese lettering laid on cover. Orange ribbon-tied binding in the traditional Japanese style. Fascinating catalogue of kimono and obi (sash) designs, produced with a combination of traditional style and the influence of of Northern European styles. It is profusely illustrated with numerous colored plates throughout and includes a total of 57 kimono and 45 obi designs, by the firms 柏寿苑 (Hakujuen) and 柳交会 (Ryukokai). Many designs were inspired by specific cities or places in Europe, including La Scala (#7), Paris (#13), Venice (#17), Musee de Louvre (#19), Stokholm (#39) and the Vatican (#43). Each of the designs has a reference number, the name of the design, and the name of the artist. Each plate is protected with a decorative tissue-guard. Some edge wear to binding with corners rubbed and boards slightly discolored. Text in Japanese. Binding in overall good, interior in very good condition. g. Item #23910
