Heavy abrasions on binding with boards mostly stripped of their leather with corners rubbed and worn. Front board detached but present. Blind spine partly detached and chipped. Illustrated title-page and foreword pages damp-stained and detached. Light damp-staining and foxing throughout. Tear on leaf 3/4 of second volume and last 2 leafs missing (553/554; 555/556).
