This data contained in these volumes is from a very complete collection of important documents relating to the period 1902-1905, which were in LordAlfred Milner, 1st Viscount Milner, (1854 - 1925) the controversial German-born British statesman and colonial administrator. He is well known as the mind behind Britain's administration of its colonies. He is was noted for what is referred to as “Milner's Kindergarten”, a group of young men he mentored and who in some cases became important figures in running the British Empire and for his key influence on South African history, through the pursuit of British hegemony.
