Collection of short stories by renowned Egyptian writer Yusuf Idris (1927 - 1991), who is considered a master of the short story. His stories were often very realistic and dealt with ordinary and poor people. Idris, who wrote regularly for the acclaimed daily "Al-Ahram" - newspaper (which still exists), was nominated a few times for the Nobel prize for literature, but never won it. [The only Egyptian to ever win the Nobel Prize of Literature was Nagib Mahfouz, a contemporary of Idris] Very minor age wear. Overall, clean and tight.
