Shalom Ravetch, renowned Rabbi Emeritus of Sinai Congregation in Long Beach, California. As he states: "This is an attempt to preserve the traditional Sabbat Eve serve through an understandable, devotional approach. The Hebrew prayers have been transliterated so that even those who have no knowledge whatever of our sacred tongue will be able to follow the chants and responses. To enable the worshipper to tell at a glance when he is to read, all responses and unison readings are clearly marked. Five variations for five Sabbaths are suggested. They have been unsed in the synagogue and were found helpful in Giving fuller and more meaningful expression to the service. Minor age wear. Minor tear to front endpaper alongside spine. Otherwise very clean and tight. In Hebrew (with some English explanation),with each page facing page [with same pagination] of English translation and transliteration of the Hebrew.
