Otto Mueller (1874 - 1930) was a German painter and printmaker of the impressionist and expressionist movements. One of the most lyrical of German painters, his central themes being the unity of humans and nature, focusing on a harmonious simplification of form, color and contours. He is especially known for his characteristic paintings of nudes and exotic women, which comprise the majority of the work in this book.
