Oskar Maria Graf (1894-1967) was a German novelist and poet known for his novels and sketches of Bavarian peasant life. His most famous work was Kalender-Geschichten published in 1929. In 1933, living in Vienna, he wrote a letter to Josef Goebbels insisting that his books should also be burned since he did not write them for the 'murderers of his colleagues'.
