Work on the Eastern Church [today referred to as "Orthodox"] and the power relation between Rome and Constantinople [today's Istanbul]. A fascinating period in the History of Christianity. Spine of vol. 1 almost completely missing, with binding very loose but still attached. Staining, scuffing, discoloration and minor tears to all wrappers, with ex-libris plates to spines.
