Publisher's device on wraps with oval stamp of bookseller S. Marcus underneath imprint. Herzel's "Judenstaat" as discussed during the general assembly of "Chowewe Erez Israel" in Cracow. Wine advertisements of Dr. G. Pouchet at rear with Edmond de Rothschild's "Vins et Cognacs de Palestine" advertised by Ahron Marcus & Hirsch on back wrapper. Modern design ex-libris of journalist Heinrich Loewe on inside front cover depicting a lion with "Elyakim ben Yehuda" (Black Hebrew Israelites, believed to be descendants of the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel) spelled in ancient Hebrew at top. Text in German, Gothic script, with few Hebrew inserts. Pages uncut at foredge with some wear, small tears at top of spine at front cover and two pages at foredge. Block age toned with "rectangular" water staining at right lower corner and back cover of binding. Overall in very good condition. vg. Item #16686
