A fascinating portfolio of five centuries of German decorative forged ironworks, including 50 numbered b&w photogravure plates of historic port and trunk hinges, door hinges, door handles, locks, key signs, keys, etc, each beautifully printed. Bösch was director of the National Germanic Museum in Nuremberg. Counterpart to the portfolio issued by Roeper, "Möbel aller Stilarten vom Ausgange des Mittelalters bis zum Ende des XVIII. Jahrhunderts" (Furniture of all styles from the end of the Middle Ages until the end of the 18th Century). Text in German. Portfolio with some bumping, rubbing and scratches to front cover, corners, edgs and along spine. Interior with light foxing to title plate. Stamp of previous owner at bottom of title plate and bottom right corner of each photogravure plate. Minor age toning to the edges of image plates, with some sporadic minor smudges.
