Police D'Israel. Quartier General 6-eme Bureau: Adolf Eichmann (Interrogation of Adolf Eichmann by members of the 6th Bureau at Police Headquarters in Israel)
Jerusalem: Police D'Israel, 1961. Softcover. Oblong Octavo. Six volumes, 3564 numbered pp. Stiff tan and blue-gray wraps with blue-gray cloth back strips.
Following his kidnapping and abduction by Israeli agents, Adolf Eichmann was remanded and pending the completion of an investigation was to stand trial under Law No. 64: "Nazis and Nazi Collaborator. Following an initial "caution (informing him of his rights)" on 29. 5. 1960, Eichmann was interrogated and gave his version of his activities orally, partly in response to documents he was presented with. All statements and questions were recorded on tape, subsequently transcribed and typed. The transcriptions were handed to Eichmann for comparison with the tapes and he corrected and confirmed them in the presence of Captain Less. The volumes I-VI contain printed photocopies of all the transcripts made (including annotations and corrections by Eichmann, signed and dated by him at the end of each volume). Each page bears identification numbers in the left hand corner and a current serial number on the right.
Adolf Eichmann, SS Obersturmbahnführer, was the head of the operation for the expulsion and deportation of the Jews (The Eichmann Referat) in the Main Office of the Federal German Security Office. He was convicted on 15 counts of crimes against humanity, crimes against the Jewish people and membership in a criminal organization but declared not guilty of personally killing anyone and of overseeing and controlling the activities of the Einsatzgruppen. Israeli agents (Golda Meir later claimed that it were private individuals) kidnapped Eichmann in Argentina in May 11, 1960, sedated and disguised him for the transport to Israel where he stood trial. Eichmann was sentenced to death and executed during the night of the 31st of May, 1962, in Ramla near Haifa.
