Volume VIII, Part I, (complete in itself) of the Excavations at Dura-Europos deals with the Synagogue of Dura and its still preserved wall decorations.

Dura-Europos (Fort Europos) was a Hellenistic, Parthian and Roman border city built on an escarpment above the Euphrates River. It is located near the village of Salhiyé, in today's Syria.

Spine of binding somewhat dulled and first page of the plate section is a bit foxed, otherwise a very good + copy. Very good. Item #52463
