1960s and 1970s photographs by Watanabe Katsumi depicting Yakuza (gangsters), prostitutes, drag queens and people in the streets of Kabukicho, the red-light district of Shinjuku at night. This volume accompanies the theme of Watanabe's first book with the same title, "The Gangs of Shinjuki." At times Watanabe made his living offering three prints for 200 Yen. Text in Japanese. Acrylic jacket with production fault or shrunken; it doesn't fit the front cover. Near fine condition. Item #51492
