San Francisco: Printed by C. and J. Johnson at the Windsor Press, 1928. First edition thus. Hardcover. 12mo. (6-1/2" x 4-1/2"). ix, (1), 146, (2)pp. Text set in a semblance of a Gothic typeface. Vellum covered boards, spine lettered in red. Illustrated with 2 hand colored miniatures and illuminated initials by Howard Simon. Edition limited to 150 numbered copies (this is #58). Spine a bit darkened & red titling a bit rubbed, but still a very good + copy, but lacking the slipcase.

This work is largely composed of translations from "Carmina burana" and was rendered into English verse by Symonds (1840-1893) who also wrote an introduction. The first edition of this work was published in London: 1884, under a slightly different title and reprinted by Mosher in 1899. Item #51338
