Dazzling illustrations from cover to cover, with thirty-six preparatory color designs (some in twenty colors), transferred to the stones under the personal direction of Chagall. These designs and the two original lithographs by Marc Chagall were gorgeously printed by Mourlot Freres (Paris). Includes some b/w plates. Translated from the original French by Elaine Desautels. Dustjacket with very light wear along edges, 1/2" chip at head of spine, and 2 small (1/2") closed tears on back panel. Binding with minor wear along edges. Fore-edge with minor, very faint foxing.
