Stories of noteworthy events during the first Indian Wars, Comanches, Pawnees, Tecumseh of the Shawnees, the Creek Indians at Fort Mims, Chippewa, the Pueblo Indians, and events during the new Indian hostilities in Mexico and Texas. Illustrated with some sixty full page woodcuts, some hand colored, in-text illustrations and nine hand-colored full page woodcut plates by W. Croome and other artists. Binding with some wear, fraying at head and tail of spine, some closed tears here, rubbed and light wear along edges and some staining. Book block at times with heavy damp-staining.
