Original brown pebbled cloth with gilt lettering and double framing and black triple framing on cover, protected by modern mylar. Rare richly illustrated sample catalog containing forty-five plates depicting more than 1,100 samples of jewelry rendered in gold and silver chromolithography, with embellishments in red, green and blue, administered by hand.
Magnificent sample book on jewelry designs for theatrical productions. Each of the large-sized plates (10 1/2 x 13 1/4") contain an insignia HC, printed at the upper left hand corner of each plate. The plates depict approximately twenty-five designs for jewelry, incl. necklaces, earrings, simple as well as elaborate designs with pearls, hairpins, clasps, belt clasps, brooches, bracelets, an extensive section with crowns, including headbands, headdresses, medals, and other objects. All designs are rendered at half of their original size. Each page has "gesetzl. geschützt" (Copyrighted) printed at the bottom left hand corner. Images framed in black with white border.
Light wear along edges of binding and very light fraying at head and tail of spine. Very lightly starting at inside front cover. Back free endpaper lightly browned and small chip at foredge. Images in fine condition. Very good- to fine condition. Item #50538
