New York: The Palestine Arab Refugee Office, [1960]. First edition. Softcover. Small quarto. 16pp. Original staple-bound blue printed wrappers, with black lettering on the front cover. A republication of British Command Paper No. 6873, detailing the activities of the major Jewish insurgency and paramilitary groups during the later period of the Mandate of Palestine. The report, originally titled "Statement of Information Relating to Acts of Violence" was drafted on July 24th 1946, and details the characteristics and activities of these groups between 1945 and 1946, during a period of increasing tensions and violence between Jews, Arabs, and British forces in Palestine.

This reissue of the report by The Palestine Arab Refugee Office in New York, contains a foreword by the organization's founder, Christian Palestinian activist and physician Izzat Tannous (1896-1972), who provides Anti-Zionist commentary from a Palestinian perspective. After engaging in political activism on behalf of the Palestinian Arab cause in Palestine, Lebanon, the UK, and the United States since the 1920s, Tannous became a founding member of the PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization) in 1964. Illustrated throughout with a number of b/w photographic reproductions showing a number of relevant historical figures and images of the aftermath of the bombing of the King David Hotel and others.

Covers with the most minor smudges scratches and/or creases. Minor rubbing to corners. Ink stamp on the bottom of the first page. Wrappers in very good+, interior in near fine condition overall. vg+ to near fine. Item #50524
