Vinyl record album (33 1/2 RPM Long Play) containing the Stinson Records repressing of the album original issued as "Songs of the Lincoln and International Brigade", in three records in 1940. The original album was produced by Moses Asch, for his Asch record label, and contains songs performed by members of the Almanac Singers, including Pete Seeger, Bess Lomax, Baldwin Hawes and Tom Glazer (and Woody Guthrie). The original record set consisted of three 78 records and a total of 6 songs. This single album reissue removes 2 of tracks and adds an additional 6 tracks performed by Ernest Bush And Chorus, for a total of 10 tracks.

The Abraham Lincoln Brigade was an international brigade of volunteers for the Republican cause during the Spanish civil war, with the album containing "the songs of the men who left home and safety behind them in 1937 to fight Fascism" in Spain. The record label originally had an association with Moses's Asch's Asch and then Folkways label's. Stinson was initially known for its release of recordings made in the Soviet Union. It issued recordings by folk and blues music including recordings by Woody Guthrie and Josh White, and was known for an association with leftist politics.
