Revised edition of this publication, published after the mandate for the construction of a national home for the Jewish people in Palestine was confirmed by the League of Nations on July 24, 1922.
The publication is structured into three parts elaborating on the principles of the Jewish National Fund (JNF) in part one, the activities of the fund in part two, and the organization, propaganda, fundraising and statistics of the JNF in part three. The content of this third edition varies significantly from the 1909 first and 1915 second edition in that the voluminous parts justifying and substantiating the necessity of Jewish colonies in Palestine could be omitted in favor of the now relevant topic of land management. The mandate of the League of Nations from July 24, 1922, provided the legal foundation for a national home for the Jewish people in Palestine.
The publication is illustrated with six plates of b/w photographs, printed to glossy paper, showing the settlement Kirjath Anawim, landscapes in Hulda and Benschemen, Jewish farmers at work, newly built homes in Tel Aviv, workers building the street to Kirjath Anawim as well as work being done at the Nabalal and Merchawijah settlements. The folding map of Israel at rear indicates the Jewish settlements across the Northern and Southern provinces as well as Samaria and Judea in red. Contains statutes and names of international organizations and representatives of the JNF at rear. Text in German. Light wear along edges of wraps. Block age-toned and some very light damp-staining in margins of photographic pages, not affecting images. Very good condition. Item #49837
