The scarce first edition of this work by Polish Catholic priest Stefan Biskupski, telling the tragic story of the martyred Polish Bishop Michal Kozal (1893-1943) of Włocławek, who was imprisoned, tortured and murdered by the Nazis during the war. In recognition of his sacrifice and work, Kozal was beatified by Pope John Paul II in 1987.
