Tucson, Arizona: Nazraeli Press, 2000. Hardcover. Signed Michael Kenna on title page. Folio. 127 (1)pp. Original gray paper-covered boards with black lettering on cover and spine, in original photo-illustrated dustjacket, black and gray lettering on spine. Black endpapers. Though nobody in Kenna's family was affected by the holocaust, Michael's photo-documentation of concentration camps had its roots in a photograph he saw in a fellow student's developing tray at the Branbury School of Art in England, showing a mountain of shaving brushes in Auschwitz. It made a lasting impression to the extent that Michael found himself in the situation, as the members of survivors diminished over time, to feel the strong urge to assure that the memory of the holocaust was not to be forgotten. (Deducted from text by Pierre Borhan). The book contains striking b/w photographs from twenty-eight concentrations camps. Still in opened publisher's shrink wrap. Fine condition. Item #48929
