Modern three quarter leather over tan boards with gilt lettering on black label on spine, gilt ruling and blind-stamped tooling. A short account of the principal objects worthy of notice in the Valley of the Nile, to the Second Cataract and Wade Samneh, from Sooez to Berenice; with remarks on the manners and customs of the ancient Egyptians and the productions of the country. Illustrated with seven plates of lithographs after drawings by J. G. Wilkinson, one plate showing the floor plan of a building housing ovens for hatching eggs by John Murray, lithograph by Day & Haghe Lith., and three folding double pages with the chronology of the Kings of Egypt, rendered in lithography. All lithographs with stamp of the Bradford Exchange Library in or next to imagery. Contains English and Arabic vocabulary at rear. Some water-staining in upper margins of plates not affecting imagery except slightly in one image. Very good condition. Item #48697
