The collection Ida Bienert was started in 1911 without any particular outside influence nor representative or material consideration. It was establish parallel to the development of modern art on the basis of a creative consciousness of the time. (Foreword) With an essay by Will Grohmann, a list of illustrations and a detailed catalog listing artist, title, medium, size, date and signatures of eighty-three works, reproduced in b/w offset on seventy-two plates.
Text in German. Dustjacket with small chips along top and bottom edges of front cover, medium chips at top and large piece missing at bottom edge of back cover. Spine almost completely missing. Some lighter creasing along edges and two lines scratched vertically on back cover, Brodart protected. Wraps with light wear and some sunning along edges and spine. Previous owner's name and date inked to front free endpaper. Block with light water exposure to the bottom corner of foredge.
