A compendium of educational experiences gathered by Christoph Natter over the course of many years. Natter was a German painter, sculptor and is considered one of the important German art teachers. His key term was "autonomous rhythm" as the unconscious power of general activity, elaborating on principles and the path.
The book is illustrated with color and b/w reproductions of works by Natter's students between 14 and 17 years old, demonstrating color harmonies, spatial ornamentation and structure, color compositions and some ceramics of older students. Text in German. Binding with light wear along edges and some rubbing. Endpapers and plates age-toned though not affecting illustrations. Very good condition. Item #48464
