New York: Phaidon Press, 2002. First edition. Hardcover. Oblong Quarto (10 1/2 x 12" incl. slipcase). Original tan boards with typographical design in various colors on covers and spines, housed in matching slipcases. Color endpapers.

Vol. 1: Paintings and Sculptures 1961–1963. Vol. 2A+B: Paintings and Sculptures 1964–1969. Vol. 3: Paintings and Sculptures 1970–1974. These volumes represent four of seven volumes of the Warhol catalog Raisonne, missing volumes 4 and 5A+B. The catalog was initiated in 1977 by Thomas Amman and has been sponsored by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts since 1993. It is what can be called the 'definite record' of Warhol paintings, sculptures and drawings, including 15,000 works produced by Warhol between 1948 and 1987. It contains rarely published material illuminating one of the most iconic figures of twentieth-century art.

Volume one includes the Campbell Soup Can paintings, images of Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor and Elvis Presley, the Death and Disaster series and early self portraits. The two volumes of the second part cover the so-called 'Factory Years,' the time when Warhol rose to enjoy Pop Art fame and assembled a cadre of collaborators making 'The Factory' one of the most mythologized artist studios. Volume three includes almost 200 portraits from the Mao series. Fine condition. Item #48366
